VMWorkstation 9.0.2 is being quite a pain on Ubuntu. I have Xubuntu 12.04 x64 running as a host. VMWare's application was installed via the x64 installer. However, all guest OSes are limited to 8GB of RAM because VMWorkstation keeps saying that it's a 32-bit operating system and not 64-bit. This is entirely incorrect. The exact same guest OS images can have their RAM extended above 8GB if used on a Windows 7 x64 host.
Anyway, how can I get VMWorkstation 9.0.2 on Ubuntu x64 systems to see that it is actually running on an x64 kernel? This RAM limitation is making life a little painful.
