SSD with XP in virtual PC?

I have heard that unlike Windows 8, Windows XP will try to defrag an SSD, to the detriment of the drive. Is this also true of XP running in a virtual PC? (I have an SSD in my MacBook Pro running XP Pro via Fusion.)
