Hello Ed,
Thanks for contacting us with your questions about Air Display, I'd be happy to help. To be completely honest we haven't tested Air Display against VMWare Workstation specifically, but from what you're describing it sounds like a similar issue we've seen with the most recent version VMware Fusion.
We are currently looking into what causes the problem and why it doesn't affect older versions of VMWare but as of right now I can't be certain when the problem will be corrected. My apologies for any inconvenience that this causes. If this was the only way that you intended on using Air Display I would be happy to provide information about how you can obtain a refund for your purchase.
Best,
Aaron

OK I have installed Air Display on a VMWare Windows 8 guest, and run the
iPad app. I can obtain a mirrored display on the iPhone which works as

employ the extended screen options; the resolution goes awry and there
seems to be no way I can either change the iPad 'resolution' or move the
extended screen. It also seems to be stuck on an older screen wallpaper
i.e it is behaving like a snapshot rather than a display when in the
'extended' mode.I'm following the procedure set out in
